Course Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: Master VR Foundations: Demonstrate a clear understanding of VR hardware (e.g., Meta Quest 3) and the software ecosystem required for architectural visualization. Execute Technical Workflows: Efficiently import and optimize 3D models from SketchUp or Rhino into a real-time rendering engine, ensuring proper layer organization and "clean" geometry. Create Realistic Environments: Apply Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials and configure complex lighting scenarios, including transitions between day and night environments. Build Interactive Experiences: Develop a navigable VR scene that includes basic interactivity, such as light switches and animated assets like people and foliage. Facilitate Design Narrative: Craft immersive guided tours using camera paths and animations to tell a specific design story. Produce Professional Deliverables: Generate a standalone ".EXE" file and a 30-second animated video, allowing clients to experience the design without needing specialized design software. Improve Client Communication: Use immersive technology to effectively present design intent and perform spatial validation, reducing the gap between concept and reality.

Course Contents

This is an intensive workshop that introduces interior design students and professionals to the workflow of creating immersive Virtual Reality experiences. Participants will learn to transform static 3D models from SketchUp or Rhino into interactive, navigable VR environments using Render Engines.
